Such a great property for a large group. We LOVED the Alice in Wonderland theme, and each room with its own unique touch this just made the project a little more fun. Loved the easy check-in.The views were one of the best in Bath. My only suggestions would be to check the bathrooms as the one down stairs remained cold the entire stay, but we managed with the remaining two bathrooms. Great spot for a large group, and walkable to downtown and communication with the host is extremely easy and quick responses. Would definitely stay again

Our stay had lots of positives. The house was quirky with plenty of space. The location was fantastic, and the decorations quirky. However there was alot damaged in the property or missing vital elements. for example we were told there would be a coffee machine, there wasn't, there was only one cereal bowl in the entire place. The oven was broken (didn heat up) dish washer was broken (the top drawer didn't slide in and out properly). there was an over all musty smell and when you flushed one toliet it smelt like sewerage, and the garden wasn't what was advertised. Over all the house needs some maintenance as there was lots of stains and issues.

Not what I Expected
Positive: The house was very quirky, good location for the town centre . Negative: The house was not very clean dust on one of the bedroom wall with hand prints and name written in the dust also soiled underwear under bed, one of the cookers had broken had to cook Christmas dinner for 11 on one cooker and only had three small saucepans, the service team didn't fix the cooker very poor. House needs a lot of TLC had to make the best of a bad job. Will not book again with this company Staybeyond Ltd, made a complaint but still no satisfactory answer from the company, just say they are very busy and still looking into my complaint. Don't trust the pictures of the house does not look as good now.

Photos look fabulous but not a true reflection It needs a fresh lick of paint and a bit of TLC Furnishings were cracked, (footstool in living room, mirror in bedroom), burn marks on one sofa, shutters didn't latch closed, one double mattress was too small for the frame, Internet didn't reach the top floor, severe limescale around kettle, showers were terrible - no pressure, stopped working if someone ran a tap, temp fluctuated between burning hot and freezing. My Mum has a severe dust allergy, and mine is mild. she needed medication within 20 minutes of walking in, and I started wheezing by that evening. massive amounts of dust behind radiators. Dishwasher was terrible, we had to wash most things by hand. (not ideal with 10 people staying) We stayed in Jan during a cold snap and we were all cold. a massive draft under the front door - needs a draft blocker. I used my jacket. Didn't contact host as these were not quick fixes. beautiful location though.

We had a great time at the house, it was a fun space to be., with a lot of thought put into the unique design It was cold initially, but in fairness temperatures did plummet on the day we arrived, but we managed to put the heating on and warm up the place - The kitchen was a great social space, where we spent most of our time, some of the equipment such as ovens and showers were a little tired, but again, all functional and we managed fine. and the beds and linen were top notch which is always a big plus. All in all it was a great place for a group to stay and sociallise/ It was an easy walk down into town, with some lovely bars and coffee shops en-route. Thank you

There are very few listings in Bath that can accommodate such a large group, and this might be the only one to do with such whimsy and fun! We LOVED the Alice in Wonderland theme, and each room with its own motif. The dozens of teacups in the kitchen were a cute touch. Loved the easy check-in. The views were one of the best in Bath. My only suggestions would be to add photos of the bathrooms on the listing (there are three!). Great spot for a large group, and walkable to downtown.

Overall, really disappointed! It was a lot of money to be disappointed.
Positive: The beds were comfortable and clean, linen and towels clean and the feeling of plenty of space throughout the house. Toiletries provided were good too. Good location for shops/Supermarket ie Morrisons, takeaways. Fabulous Italian Deli across the road which does a fantastic coffee! The StayBeyond Team were also really helpful and quick in providing help when we needed it with the power and a potential lost ring, so thank you to them. Negative: Property was tired and unloved!... the photos on your website are deceptive and lead us to believe the property would be in great condition - it isn't! Which is such a shame as it is a beautifully looking townhouse in a great location. The first night we had 2 power cuts and it turns out it was due to a wall light that was hanging off the wall in the kitchen and the wires blue/brown were exposed, which the maintenance guy advised was dangerous as the wall lights were not fitted appropriately! He described the house as a 'party house', one of many belonging to this company around Bath. The showers were not at all great - not powerful, difficult to control with intermittent hot water. There were hanging wires in the lounge by the TV and lamps, dirty stained carpets in the hallway, where there should have been pictures there were just screws poking out of walls, presumably where things had been broken and not replaced! We found Penis straws in the kitchen draws when we were looking for teaspoons and 1 teaspoon for the whole house which was quite weird when there were so many pretty cups and saucers for afternoon tea. There was a general lack of glasses, ie tumblers, wine glasses and mugs. Curtains were missing hooks so gapping in parts, although the original quality was good, they just felt a bit dirty and in need of a dry clean. The basements bedrooms smelt of damp so perhaps not enough done to try and minimise this, again showing the property is generally uncared for! The outside garden space was unkept, which was real shame again as it potentially had been really pretty. It didn't look like any garden maintenance had been done throughout the summer and chairs were just piled in a bit of a heap! As the potential renter of this property how ironic is it that a I was made to jump through hoops in providing and proving our identity, then paying the deposit to stay and then staying in such a disappointing house!

We stayed here as a large group of 13, varying in age from 30+. Overall we had a good stay. Some of the rooms need some TLC, and the smell of sewerage was often smelt on the lower levels and damp was a clear problem in the basement bedrooms and bathroom. Good location about 15 mins walk to town. Overall we did enjoy our stay but upon closer inspection work needs to be done on the level of cleanliness, replacing stained items and generally upgrading things like mattresses and pillows to be better fit for purpose.

Positive: The rate was very reasonable for the location but would would have happily paid more for a better upkeep. Negative: The vermin that came in at night and ate the food. The false description stating they’ll send a safe link to upload id when they want you to email it, which isn’t secure. The cleaner still being there until 5 when check in is 3pm. The showers which need replacing as the thermostat is shot meaning they go from freezing to boiling hot and back again, over and over which is a major hazard. It needs a decent clean

As a group of friends with teenage kids this was a great location for Bath. The house was big, but some of the furniture was tired, and the kitchen lack a lot of basics for cooking meals! The showers were temperamental, one only cold all the time! We enjoyed our stay, and the space the house provided, but it could do with a few improvements to areas if you’re staying a family group and not as a party group! As a recommendation book parking at Morrisons which is only 10mins walk from the house and you can leave your car there for the duration of the stay! A great curry house down the road…and some good pubs nearby too!

Recently stayed with a group of ladies and the space worked perfectly. We enjoyed gathering around the big table in the kitchen. House is well equipped and clean. Really good value for money as a super central location. The house is very old so the plumbing is interesting. The showers don’t all work if used at the same time and the heating was blasting out in some rooms as the radiator thermostats were broken, but we managed . The area felt very safe and welcoming. Would definitely stay again.

Positive: Booked this for 10 of us and had been given a tight budget. I was pretty worried about staying here based on other reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. Yes the decor is a little tired in places but it's an old house and themed - it added to the quirkiness in our opinion! Kitchen was really well stocked, beds were comfortable and the added toiletries were a nice touch. A bit of dirt in the nooks and crannies but the main areas, bathrooms, beds etc were all clean so no complaints from us. Location was fantastic! Overall really good value considering it was a fraction of the price of other houses in Bath. Some reviews mention the check in - I collated everyone's IDs 2 weeks before and had no issues Negative: As other reviews have said the shower pressure isn't great, but it is an old house. For a weekend we managed fine (the girls that needed to wash hair timed it with their spa trip!)

Positive: The location. Negative: Like many reviews on here. The property is showing signs of age and lack of maintenance. The whole place could do with a re-furb. The photos are quite clearly from when it was first listed and are not recent. The whole place lacks any TLC. The showers are more than useless, only one person can shower at a time as the temperature fluctuates. The carpet is dirty throughout the property. We didn’t venture into the garden but it certainly wouldn’t be for entertaining. A shame really as this house could be wonderful, but it isn’t as described.

The house is in a good location, but is next to a busy road and the windows are paper thin and do literally nothing to stop the road noise. We didn’t sleep a wink to be honest… We also had to deal with naff showers that just didn’t work, and the heating is either roasting hot and unable to be turned down in some rooms or freezing cold in others. In the end we left a day early as two days of no sleep and no showers was not on. The host advised he could supply high chairs and cots and to ‘remind him’ a couple of days before. When we did that, he could only get us one cot without a mattress and one broken high chair. Just be honest from the start? I complained and whilst the host was initially responsive, he has now gone quiet and I’ve had to involve airbnb

Lovely stay in a great house and location!
Positive: It was a great size for 13 adults, we had so much space and there was more than enough seating for everyone too. The location was great just a short walk away from the city centre and everything we had planned to do whilst there. The house decor was just as the pictures show, it was pretty clean and all the facilities were as expected. Negative: Could have been slightly cleaner but overall it was fine.

Positive: Property was just what we needed! Perfect location for what we needed. Close enough to walk in and out of town but not too close that we were disturbed by the weekend nightlife! Negative: Hot water system was not adequate to deal with the number of people it’s supposed to accommodate. If one person was showering and an other used an other tap or flushed the toilet in an other bathroom the water temperature in the shower changed to either scolding hot or freezing cold! When there is a larger group of women staying there, as we were…it made preparations for getting ready a little tricky! Whilst we found the place great it was looking a little tired compared to the photos. A minor “complaint” of not all bedrooms had decent storage for clothing. We worked round it but having to go in to other rooms to hang clothes was a little annoying!

Positive: The location was very close to the centre. Within 5-10 minutes you could walk to the Roman baths, Abbey, main shopping area. There were excellent places to eat and get coffee within 1-2 minutes walk. The property itself is very large, the rooms are spacious. There is ample furniture in the living/dining & bedrooms. There were more than enough beddings, towels, toiletries provided. The kitchen was well stocked with cutlery, crockery and utensils. The communication from the hosts prior to arrival was excellent and faultless. The decor of the house was extensive with a lot of thought and effort gone into the Alice in Wonderland theme, lots of nice little touches in every room. Negative: Two of the three bathrooms were unusable due to no hot water. No heating in the basement which meant that floor (comprising of 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom) was not able to be used. Despite being notified of this issue on the first evening (within 3 hours of us arriving) nothing was done to address this during our 4-night stay. This was incredibly disappointing. The WiFi was passable but not reliable (although bear in mind we were 7 adults with mobile devices so that might have been a contributing factor). The property showed it's age in decor, fixtures and fittings. The washing machine was filthy and could not be used. There was a bad smell emanating from the sink in the kitchen and the utility room housing the dishwasher so on the first night we had to go and buy drain unblocker, which needed to be used daily. The communication with hosts during the stay was not good. We called everyday to enquire when someone would come to rectify the issue with the hot water and heating but no one turned up. On the last day they left space heaters outside the basement (which were not seen until the next morning when we were leaving the property to return home.

Disappointing
Positive: The location of the property is great! Noisy on the main road but very easy to walk to all locations in Bath. The quirky decor was a nice touch rooms were large. Negative: The boiler wasn’t working so there was only hot water in the basement shower. Not great sharing showers between 7 or washing up and cleaning with cold water during a pandemic when hygiene is key and doesn’t bode well for the COVID safe promise! The other major issue was the WiFi which wasn’t working either. Stay Beyond did send a boiler engineer out but the problem could never be fixed during the time of our stay and we had to take time out of our short break to provide access to the property! The same happened with the Sky engineer. We were provided with the details to call Sky regarding the WiFi and had to make numerous calls and wait around again, taking time out of our break, to provide access. A £200 refund we were promised as compensation has never materialised and subsequent emails have been ignored.

A truly unique place, in a beautiful City.
Positive: Even though the building is slightly outdated, it actually adds to the “wonderland” feel. The heating was working, water was hot in the bathrooms and the beds were comfortable. The house was tidy and clean in most areas. Amazing location, just a short walk to the city centre. Lots of cooking utensils and cute tea cups for tea throughout our stay. Each room was unique and decorated well, plenty to choose from. Negative: Hour delay for checking in to the property, the funky light in the lounge didn’t work unfortunately and the dishwasher was full of dishes when we arrived. The front door was quite weak when shut from the outside, as we couldn’t lock the door with the key for some reason. We were slightly worried that it could be forced open quite easily.

In general everything wasn't very clean, cans/drink decorations left from previous people. Was hoping after reading the reviews on the hot/cold water in the showers being temperamental they would have fixed it - but no only 1 shower with good temperature water. I found communication quick but very unhelpful. Never known a deposit to be taken & take 2 weeks to be returned & check in process was ridiculous everyone sending selfie's with their ID!

Excellent location to get to the city centre. kitchen was fantastic with a table big enough for us all to sit round. Negative: nothing at all. Positive: I just want to start by saying ignore any negative reviews the house is what you make it, reading reviews nearly put us off booking but we took a chance and so glad we did, we had an awesome weekend for my mums 60th birthday (June 2021) ages ranged from 9 to 81 and everyone loved it The size of the house was amazing, perfect to spread out in, the boys went in the lounge to watch the football and the girls/children played cards & games in the kitchen Lovely clean bedding and towels provided along with some mini toiletries in each room, dishwasher and tablets too, tea towels, washing up liquid and bin bags all provided Never had a problem with showers or hot water and there was 8 of us showering daily, WiFi worked absolutely fine too No parking near the house at all, it's all permit parking so we got the train and then a taxi to the house only 5/6 min drive, you could walk it but with cases & kids i wouldn't risk the moaning Deliveroo was amazing for delivering food to the house We ate at the Curfew a 3 minute walk away and the food was incredible highly recommended V cars best taxi company around if you need one Negative: The messages from the house indicated that the house was in a quiet neighbourhood & no loud music after 10pm but the house is actually on a really busy road so I'd advise putting children or light sleepers in the bedrooms to the back of the house as it can be noisy

Birthday weekend in Bath
Positive: Have just spent a lovely weekend in Bath. The House is in a fantastic location to all amenities. Only 20 minute walk from the train station which is great as you have to park your car there. Plenty of space in the property which allows you to keep your daily step count up and I am certain my glutes are much firmer than when I arrived. The house was clean with excellent amenities in the kitchen. I would definitely consider staying here again once I had bought some thermals and followed a rigorous exercise plan for 6 months. 5 star! Pleasant self-catering accommodation, in need of some TLC.
Positive: The theme was a great idea, and the children really took to it. Location-wise, ideal for central Bath. Negative: Identification of the property not helped by calling it the Georgian House. Access instructions were clearly for another property not applicable to the Wonderland Townhouse. Theme was good, but decor needs a bit of TLC. Parking was difficult but we managed. Deposit refund process too slow, we left the property on 1st September, received an email saying refund made on 10th September, and finally received the refund today, 14th September. This could be a lot faster.

Positive: No comment Negative: There are lots of things we were not happy with. There was no hot water for shower... out of 3 bathrooms only 1 bathroom had shower working... we had to shower in cold water... we called and complained but nothing done... Friday morning it was unexpected, as the shower was not working and we had to reach tona location for an activity and lost the money as we couldnt reach in time as we were all waiting to queue up for shower. accomodation is for 16 people bit not even 13 chairs tk sit on at dinning... fridge drawer is broken and so when i was putting things inside there i cut my finger... i would not recommend this accomodation... the dish washer was not working and had to wash dishes in sink for 14 people.. there was also drainage smell in one rooms window..also water was not flowing proper in the ground floor shower and shower tap was broken.

Positive: This place has a lot going for it, were it in the right hands of ownership. The location of the property is 15 mins walk to the main centre of Bath, so no car is needed if you just want to be near the buzz of Bath. It also has enough rooms to cater all 13 of us, and then some. It has the potential to be an amazing place to stay in Bath. Negative: A case of "where do I start". Staybeyond, the management agency of this property, failed to provide the correct door entry details and code.....it is not a smart lock as shown on the video, it is very much a chubb normal key operated lock....and the code was completely wrong. We waited almost 30 mins to get in. The whole house is dated and needs a major revamp. We experienced the following: cobwebs in places, fading colours in decor, settled dust on window sils, stains on the wall, constantly dripping radiators (needs bleeding I think!), damp smell in basement, no warm showers (or even water pressure in certain bathrooms), sash windows not staying up to enjoy fresh air, weak WiFI (we all put our hotspots on) and all drawers in the fridge were cracked, making it a delicate task to pull out a beer!

Great location and quirky building, but property in need of some TLC
Positive: The location was great and the overall feel of the property was good. The Alice in Wonderland theme added a little quirkiness to the stay. Beds comfortable, and size of property pretty good. Negative: The property is just a little tire and in need of some cosmetic upgrades. The one electric shower did not work (that has been on previous customer feedback!) the kettle was damaged (although still worked) heating on lower floors was ok but made the top floor an oven (no ability to turn down individual radiator and window catches broken). There is a blocked drain issue so the basement smelt damp and unpleasant. Cleaning on arrival was poor. Dishwasher was so dirty we didn't even use it and under and between sofa seats was the last guests rubbish. Nothing spoilt our stay but frustrating to have simple things not sorted.

Horrible money grabbing owners, unsafe property
Positive: Leaving Negative: Prior to the stay we asked to have our money back as the pandemic made it unsafe for our shielding member to attend. We were refused a refund and promised the property would be ready and cleaned to a high standard. 5 members of the party could no longer attend due to covid rules. The locks on the door were being changed on our arrival. The person had no idea we were arriving and said the property had not been prepared. The issues we had: Property not cleaned when we arrived 4 hour delay entering the property Shielding member of the party and a one year baby left to wait outside on the street. Property filthy when we entered No hot water Cot provided for our baby collapsed A double bed collapsed Dirty bottles in the gutter Shower filthy and not working Clutter piled up behind fire doors Fire doors propped open with fire extinguishers Fire alarm switched off My disabled father went to bed, it collapsed, the next day someone came to fix it but couldn't and never returned. No wifi Toilet brush holder full of dead flies Bathroom floors dirty Garden overgrown, unsafe to use, Dirty bottles and cigarette butts in the garden Boiler last serviced in 2014 Cutlery dirty Floor dirty Windows hanging off hinges, unable to lock Property owners refused to move us Plumber "fixed" the boiler but we still had no hot water. Absolutely awful! Booking.com no help Property owners failed to resolve the issues. This was the first time the family were together since January. We were celebrating my 40th birthday. I spent a large portion of the stay trying to sort out the many issues we had. My baby couldnt even have a bath as we had no hot water and had no cot to sleep in as what was provided was unsafe. Would never ever stay here again and would urge others to avoid at all costs. The owners and booking.com could not have cared less about our issues. Daylight robbery. My first phone call will be CAB followed by Trading Standards.

Great sized property though a bit dated
Positive: Size of property, location, fresh linen and towels & toiletries. Cleaners were welcoming & helpful even though the property wasn't available when we arrived. Negative: The facilities seemed a bit worn i.e. doors off hinges, radiator bezzle not working, shower temperature temperamental.

The Townhouse was an excellent place for a weekend in Bath.
Positive: Very comfortable place for us to stay - quirky and plenty of character, close to the city centre. Negative: The electronic lock on the door is definitely temperamental, or over sensitive - and every attempt to open was after a five minute wait for a re-set (twice in the rain). Not helped by emails sending me two different codes leading up to the stay. Please sort this out for future guests.

The perfect house for a group of people!! Perfect location, with only a few minutes walk down to the very centre of town. The house had the facilities you needed, and the rooms were very nice. Everything was excellent besides the WiFi, which did not work. Had a really nice stay there, which you should have as well!!

Fantastic location. Wonderful views. Comfortable beds and living space. If you like to cook, bring your own knives ! Seems to be very popular with Hen parties - no shortage of champagne glasses! Don't expect to have wifi, but it really didn't matter that much. And there is a house phone that you can use if you really need to google anything.

This location accommodated a group of 16 giving us room for cooking, laundry and relaxing. It is a charming taste of old Bath, filled with art and antiques. In fact, it feel like a part of the city. While it is a little worn, it is also priced in a budget that allowed us to host all our college art and photography students in one place without tripping all over each other. We had some problems with the internet but worked around it, mostly by going to the "Curfew" pub across the street. (Try the apple and cheese baguette! It is amazing!) The people there are super nice! It was close to downtown and the abbey. Grocery shopping, Roman baths, the Abbey, restaurants and gift shopping at several locations was only a 10 minute walk. Reserved parking (needed) is around the back. Lots of showers and toilets and a large kitchen and living room to eat and meet. Good communication with the owners was nice.

No parking, wifi connection very poor/didn't work, dusty, unclean bathrooms & kitchen, top room too hot to even sleep in. Had to turn off heating completely which meant turning off the hot water. Floors dirty, broken glass on kitchen floor, previous guests items & objects left behind. Seemed as though the property was never cleaned. Host said she would refund £100 cleaning fee. Host gave good communication throughout our stay and was understanding considering the state of parts of the house. The house does not positively reflect the images on the website.

Hi Camilla, I really appreciate for choosing to stay in my property and I feel sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with the age of the house and the wifi. Please note that the house is an antique property, One of the most famous building in the city with a great history. I would of course consider changing the layout and the decoration but the property has an antique identity. I will of course do touch ups and I would like to invite you to visit it again as your feedback thinking of an antique house is very valuable. Regarding the wifi I've been informed from the provider that they were working to improve the service hence the bad connection. I know change the provider and the wifi speed is very fast. Comfortable beds, central location. Decor not to my taste but interesting! House was not as clean as we would have liked - dirty oven trays left in oven, bin left full, glasses not very clean, however, It was a convenient house in terms of location but not one I would book again. It was tricky to cook for a large group as the pans were not big enough, there were not enough glasses for everyone, the dishwasher barely worked and the Alice crockery took up every spare shelf, leaving little room for our own shopping. Parking is also something to consider as you only get an hour on the streets nearby, we had a pleasant stay none the less, but more despite the house than because of it.
