  2. It is a disappointing if hopefully economical stay

    Positive: The location was excellent. Negative: Start from the beginning: Providing photo ID for a weekend holiday was a new one on me. Providing a refundable down-payment on damages almost equal to the cost of the stay was an entirely new one on me! The intelligent front door didn't work, the door therefore could not be locked once inside. The back door also didn't lock. At point of arrival, no hot water was available, the boiler needed resetting. It wasn't very clean. The ensuite wet-room downstairs: the sink is unsuitable for anything other than washing your hands; the tiled floor flexes under you, and the attempts that have clearly been made at re-grouting it dissolve underneath you. Oh, and there is no extraction, nor does the towel rail heat up. Upstairs bathroom - has a mysterious leak, making it a slip hazard to anyone, especially my fellow guest who suffers with a physical disability. Not a wardrobe or hanger to be found within the property. Two irons, but no ironing board.

    Positive: No signal for mobile phones. Had to walk to main road to be able to ring Staybeyond and after 6 attempts of ringing them and being disconnected I was eventually told to connect to the house WiFi - great suggestion except it was turned off! Eventually managed to open the door but was a right palaver Negative: Tiles in bathroom broke on floor. Lumpy bed for the single. No info how to work heating. And 2 cupboards in front room had the covers hanging off. Smell of polish was overwhelming. Also Stay beyond ask for more information than necessary with photos of 🆔, selfies, where are you travelling from. How long a drive? - none of their business. And trying to get security deposit back. They don’t hold it like a Car hire company do they actually deduct it from the card and then take 14 days to refund it.

    To get approval to stay was so complex with passport photos for all and then after that selfies with passport photo required which was very odd. Then on arrival the Klevio electronic key didn’t work Despite many attempts. The key box had been ripped off the wall. The external part of the house was appalling. Finally soneone came and let me in. The WiFi didn’t work and phone signal poor. The garden was full of weeds with burnt out wood wall shelf. The dishwasher didn’t work. The tv didn’t work. There were no welcome instructions. The upstairs tap would soak your clothes when turned on. The toilet leaked. No where to hang clothes. The cleaners had done a good job but the house in general was run down with wallpaper peeling off/tiles not fitting/ damaged walls. Very poor

  7. Worst experience ever--don't book!

    Positive: The house is very well-located; easy to walk or take the bus to the center of town. The kitchen was pleasant, the upstairs bedroom was okay, the bath towels were nice, and it was nice to have a little yard. But see below for the problems... I was wrong to give this place a chance. Negative: Short story: Don't book this, and in fact this place shouldn't even be on Booking until it is properly maintained. I have been using Booking since 2007 and have never had such a bad experience. The problems began even before I arrived: as others have noted, the management company (StayBeyond) requests far too much personal information and sends far too many messages. I dutifully downloaded the Klevio key app--only to find that it does not work! The device on the door is clearly out of battery. The company did swiftly tell me where to find a physical key...but I soon found out what a sorry state the place is in. Worst, the boiler was not functioning and it was 11 degrees Celsius in the warmest spot in the house. It took over 24 hours and hours' worth of repeated messages and calls to both StayBeyond and Booking to get the boiler fixed. The company did drop off electric heaters--and turned them on in rooms where I didn't go without telling me, which is dangerous! Beyond that, the living room and downstairs bedroom are unusable due to mold and damp. My clothes and suitcase still smell of mold, despite being in the room I thought was okay. The downstairs shower is hazardous due to loose tiles and mold. The upstairs bath has a hazardously loose pane of glass and a toilet that leaks on the floor. CO2 detectors were not functioning. I could go on, and I did to the company--who then asked me to take more time to take photos of everything--not my job! Worse, despite all of my distress and inconvenience, StayBeyond is unresponsive regarding any compensation. Kudos to Booking for giving me partial credit out of their own kindness. It is a shame that a house with such potential is so poorly maintained.

    Positive: Excellent location, great nearby amenities and within walking distance of the city centre. The property was very clean and comfortable. The rooms were lovely and there was everything we needed in the kitchen. Overall, great value for money. Negative: Booking and digital key app were a bit of a faff. We couldn't figure out how to turn on the heating so the place was a bit cold.

    Daniel and Olivia's property was a great size and perfect location for getting into Oxford (only a 10min bus ride) and the price was very reasonable. However, the house was a little 'shabby' with dirt / dust in places, unfinished decor and a blind missing from the upstairs bedroom meaning it was unusable. We also had problems at check in as the Klevio lock wasn't working so we had to call someone to get us into the house. We also had to go without heating / hot water for the first night / next morning as the gas meter hadn't been topped up so had to spend our Saturday morning arranging for that to be fixed too. It was fixed and we were reimbursed for our troubles but it's still not really what you want when you're away for a weekend with friends. A very small final point - there weren't any teabags or coffee so make sure you bring some with you!

    Positive: The property has got many rooms, kitchen utensils, fridge and freezer. Negative: There was a leakage in the main toilet upstairs. And a large proportion of mould in the wall beside the toilet sink. There is a noticeable mould beside the kitchen sink. Keeping our children in the mould area was feeling danger. The ground floor attached bath area tiles were unfixed, so therefore we did not allow children there as well. Freezer was contained of frozen ice: this was not cleaned. There was not enough oven racks (to place the food or trays) ; although you mentioned all basic kitchen utensils available. Without the oven racks, we were not able to cook things in the oven. Out of 3 bathroom, the 2 bathroom sink basin are very small and were not suitable for family purpose. In summary we did not like this place at all. We will not recommend this property to others.

  23. READ FULL REVIEW AND DO NOT BOOK. Unscrupulous company, who backs you into a corner financially by implying last minute

    Positive: Staff were always very friendly and polite when speaking to them. Location was easy to get to. Negative: The initial booking process - more terms than a finance agreement for a mortgage and they treated the holiday booking like a rental agreement or long term let. It’s over the top and unnecessary which is very off putting. The place is clearly ran by a company with no personal connection to the property or thought to be attentive, unlike other priorities where it is the owner themselves who does everything and takes care of the property. The damage deposit is not part of the overall costs and to be paid separate - fine. Except they don’t take it. It was due a month/four weeks before check-in. Deposit was not taken at the specified date but they did take the payment in full two weeks before check-in as detailed. After this point it is non-refundable. Figured they would have taken the deposit at the same time or maybe they were no longer requiring it since they had payment in full. Nope. They requested the deposit at 48hrs before checkin at which point we had already begun travelling and they said that the booking was not secure until security checks had been completed and approved and the deposit paid. This was rage inducing and a disgusting approach. They were unscrupulous in their actions and leaving it until this last minute when people had already started their journeys. What if they didn’t receive the messages? What if they didn’t agree with the OTT checks? It’s now too late to cancel and far too late for a refund. The company deliberately put the customer in a corner and basically holds them for random to comply with their awful policies. I was told to answer three questions before I could proceed: where am I travelling from, what is the purpose of my stay/travel and who are all adults, names and ages? WTF? This isn’t the Mexican boarder! I answered all questions and was then told I had to provide both pictures of ALL adults drivers licences and a second photo/selfie of each person holding their licence. This was ridiculous and P’d off everyone.

Bardzo utrudniony kontakt z obsługą, Brak jednego miejsca do spania i pościeli, brak reakcji obsługi oraz zwrotu należności. Dziwne wymagania pod groźbą nie wpuszczenia do wcześniej opłaconego obiektu (typu zdjęcia paszportów wszystkich gości oraz dodatkowo z paszportem przy twarzy - jak dla mnie żenujące i obraźliwe) wszystkie formalności ze strony obiektu w dniu przyjazdu, nerwy, szukanie zasięgu i Internetu, potem 20 min stanie na deszczu i instalowanie oprogramowania, i szukanie zasięgu aby tego dokonać.     Positive: Convenient location Negative: We had several issues during the full length of our stay : - a big portion of the carpet in our bedroom was wet soaked. We do not know what that happen and that's how we found the carpet when we first arrived at the hotel. We had to keep our shoes on all the time because it was honestly disgusting to walk on it without any shoes on. - the whole house really needs a good deep cleaning. We found the whole place to be very dirty and dusty - the mattress provided for the metal frame bed was not thick enough and we could feel the metal against our backs.. - no wardrobes provided so it was quite difficult to store our clothes properly

It was advertised with bunk beds but there were none. There was no coffee maker like advertised. The hob went off while ising it. It was an awful stay from start to finish.

    I'm writing this because, while I'm in the middle of making a complaint, Airbnb is asking me for a review. Be aware that there were a litany of problems during our stay, and this listing is currently inaccurate. Firstly, there are three double beds and ONE single bed. The bunk beds do not exist. Secondly, there is NO car parking; if you check the listing, the 'parking' offered at this property is simply an insecure shed for bikes/motorbikes. Third, the instruction for getting in are wrong, you will need to call a call centre to get them to open the door - it took us an hour in the rain to sort it out. The general maintenance in the property is lacking, with broken taps, locks, dishwasher... This, along with the problems with the gas supply (so no heating or hot water!) meant that we didn't have a great stay. But... it is well located for Oxford centre, comfortable enough and has almost everything you need for a stay - just the management company could really do with improving - A LOT.

Grubby kitchen table (had to re clean it), broken down boiler therefore no hot water for over 24 hours. Dirty marks all over walls. Taps soak you every time you turn them on. Electric shower either boiling hot or freezing cold. En-suite in master bedroom absolutely disgraceful. Filthy grout, tiles which were only placed around the drain, a rusty bin in the corner. Not fit for use as a bathroom. No mattress covers on beds and mattresses underneath one thin sheet were very dirty. At best this house had a quick wipe down ahead of us staying - very concerning during this Covid 19 pandemic time we are still in.

No pictures on the walls, no cushions. House felt much more bare than the 'staged' photos. - kitchen was good for 3 people but there wouldn't be enough crockery/mugs/glasses etc for 8 guests

    Positive: Location and wall paper Negative: The hire was from 3pm on the Friday. As per supplied information I should have received the access code information 24-48 hours prior to self check in. By 9am on Friday 2nd I still had not received this information so I called to chase. I was informed I would receive the email by 3pm. I was outside the property at 3pm to check in, but after several calls and a lot of stress I only received the check in details at 4.30pm. During this time I was asked to provide photos of the other guests and their photo ID, which was ridiculous as I had not been asked to do this previously during the booking process, and the company had taken by security deposit. I hired an 8 person property, but there were no bunk beds meaning the property only slept 7. BIG problem and not what we paid for. There are no blinds over the windows in the roof of the top bedroom, so my friend couldn't sleep beyond dawn break due to the light in her room. There was an issue with the hot water supply for showers on the first morning - nobody loves a cold shower! The drain in the downstairs ensuite shower room didn't drain, so there was a concern re flooding that room. The shower had to be turned on and off to ensure that didn't happen. The rubbish bins in the outdoor space hadn't been emptied, were overflowing and there were a lot of flies in that area. They've got the making of a fantastic property there, but the enjoyment of our stay was hampered by the points listed above. Whilst my full deposit has been returned I still haven't heard back regarding my complaints, despite chasing several times over the last 6 weeks. I don't like to write poor reviews, but Stay Beyond have now had plenty of time to respond. I will never book with this company again.

    Positive: It is a good house, well located, very spacious. Negative: We had the gas and electricity cut off at the second day of our stay. Took at least 5 hours to resolve the problem (we were there during the winter... so not acceptable). The bathroom screen fell over my two kids that were at the bathtub because wasn't properly fixed, fortunately not broken. The carbon monoxide alarm wasn't working. Several light bulbs burnt, bed linings dirty... Do not rely on the internet, because never worked properly... As we were moving in the middle of a Covid-19 second wave and was our last days home at Oxford, we left some things behind. My son forgot his cuddle toy, which according to them was never found (I have doubts if anyone really checked the house). And to end up as a perfect deception: they do not refund the damage deposit, even chasing every day the answer is always: waiting from the finance team.

    Positive: Nice and clean and very spacious house, very well equiped, good location Negative: heating system is turning off on odd times, being very cold during winter time. a better check of light fixtures, many lamps was not working,

  51. Beautiful and comfortable

    Positive: Lots of rooms, very clean, lots of light, beautifully decorated. Negative: No clothes dryer to go along with the washer. Which would be fine in the summer I guess when you can hang your clothes outside. A little tricky when rainy though.

    Positive: Clean and tidy. Nice property. Close to town (10/15minute walk). All the things needed to make a nice stay. Beds all really comfy. House has been renovated to a good standard. Would definitely stay here again. Negative: N/a
